School and a Birthday.

A lot has been going on with our family lately. Summer has come to an end, Ava is officially in full day school and Baby Peter turned the Big ONE!

We tried to soak up as much of the summer as possible. Doing a lot of swimming, play dates and eating all kinds of summer junk food. Ava started school on the August 22nd. She is back at the school she went to last year, so I wasn't so nervous. She loved going to her elementary and made a ton of great friends there. Her teacher is Mrs. Simpson, and she loves being in her class. After her first day of school I asked her what her favorite thing about being in first grade was? Her answer, school lunch and her 3 recess'. Typical answer for a kid. Haha! She says that her school has the best cheeseburgers she's ever tasted.. and she's said that about every meal she's had since that day. I'm really looking forward to the wonderful things she will learn this year and to see how much she grows. I love how she wants to be involved in everything and anything, she's definitely a little social butterfly, and I look forward to watching her blossom.

This past weekend my little baby turned One, and I really cannot believe how fast the year has gone by. Having two kids has been no joke, and it tests my patience every. single. day. But, I'm definitely blessed with the best kids around. Peter has been such a fun baby to watch grow and become his own person. He's different from his sister in a lot of way. He's rambunctious, he loves to be daring, and he loves to eat. We threw a small celebration for him. I really wanted to make it something that he would enjoy. We went to the aquarium with a few family and friends who have kids Peter's age. He loved our little outing. He was super excited to see all the different exhibits they had to offer there. It's definitely somewhere I would take him again. On Sunday, the day of his actual birthday, we had a few people over for cake and ice cream. Thanks to the Coils, Nocks, Diaz', Mina and Bailey for hanging with us all weekend. And special thanks to Dave and Doreen for surprising us and helping us celebrate, and to my parents, Enid and Peter, for helping with the party even though they couldn't be there physically. We love you all and appreciate it!

With all of those things past us, we look forward to extra curricular activities, football season and Holidays!! Can't wait :)
