Six

Six years ago on May 13th around 5:30 pm the sweetest little girl made me a mommy for the first time. I was excited, nervous and scared for the journey we were about to go on but these past six years have been the absolute best. She is the best friend a girl could ask for and I'm grateful she chose me to be her mom. 

Today, we had a last minute birthday get together for Ava. I had been telling her for weeks that we could't have a birthday party because we were going to celebrate in Hawaii with my family. But she has done so well in school and has been so helpful with her little brother, that she deserved to have a day to celebrate the day she was born. It was just a small gathering with some of her closest family and friends.. Indie + Maya, Kaylee + Alaya, Aaliyah and Tai + Taleah. We are so grateful that they could all come and help make Ava's day special.

Spring Concert 2016

                             

                                      

Tonight was a total dream come true for me. Ava danced in The Dance Club's spring concert, which was her very first concert. If you know me, you know I love the art form of dance. It's a part of who I am and I love sharing it with my daughter. I loved every moment of watching her dance on stage. I hope that she continues to love dance, but it will be ok if she doesn't. :( I thought for sure she would be shy and get a bit of stage fright but she totally killed it. She even talked about trying out for a team {insert astonished face emoji here} We will definitely see where her dance career takes her, and even if it ends tonight, it was enough for this mama.
